What are we implying when we say that someone is wise? We can easily label someone as smart, clever, intelligent. Why wise? Wisdom is extremely difficult to define as it incorporates so much. Wisdom can be explained as a profound understanding of people, an ability to think rationally while using knowledge, experience and common sense. Wisdom often requires control of one’s emotional reactions and is associated with characteristics such as unbiased and unprejudiced judgment. Reason, knowledge, and universal and general laws prevail to determine one’s actions than emotions. Wisdom comes through age, experience, knowledge and application. A person gets much wiser with age because of the ups and downs of life, successes and failures mellow a person. So what are the golden rules of wisdom?
